Trade Management Solutions

A trade managed from A to Z through a single point of contact — counterparties, contracts, documents, logistics, compliance and settlement held together rather than handed between advisers.

What are trade management solutions?

Trade management solutions cover the running of a trade from first enquiry to final settlement through a single point of contact. Wisemann Capital verifies counterparties, manages the contract and its obligations, controls documentation, coordinates inspection and logistics, monitors compliance and risk, and follows payment and settlement through to close — so nothing falls between separate advisers.

Trades fail in the gaps between advisers

A typical physical trade involves a sale contract, a surveyor, a shipping agent, a customs broker, a bank and at least two sets of compliance checks. Each of those parties does its own part competently. What goes wrong is usually the joins: a credit that asks for a certificate the surveyor was never told to issue, a laycan agreed without reference to the letter of credit expiry, a counterparty screened once and never again.

Trade management puts one team in charge of the joins. It is the service that brings our Pre-Shipment, Post-Shipment and Trade Instruments work together under a single point of contact.

What is managed

  • Counterparty due diligence

Ownership, beneficial ownership, standing, sanctions and adverse media screening before commitment, and repeated where a trade runs over time.

  • Contract management

Terms negotiated against what the trade can actually deliver, and obligations — laycans, notices, inspection rights, payment triggers — tracked through the life of the contract.

  • Document control

Every document in the trade kept consistent with every other: contract, credit, certificates, bills of lading and invoices.

  • Logistics coordination

Surveyors, shipping agents, terminals, freight forwarders and customs brokers coordinated to a single schedule.

  • Compliance and risk monitoring

Sanctions, export controls, counterparty and price exposure monitored while the trade is live, with issues escalated before they become claims.

  • Settlement and reporting

Payment, adjustments and close-out followed through, with clear reporting at each stage so you always know where the trade stands.

How an engagement runs

  1. Scope and trade map

We map the trade — parties, route, documents, payment mechanism and key dates — and agree which parts we manage and which remain with you.

  2. Verification and contracting

Counterparties are verified, and contract terms are aligned with the inspection, logistics and payment arrangements before signature.

  3. Execution control

Inspection, shipping, documentation and any bank instruments are run to a single schedule, with one team accountable for keeping them consistent.

  4. Monitoring and escalation

Deadlines, compliance and exposures are tracked while the trade is live, and anything that threatens delivery or payment is raised early.

  5. Settlement and close-out

Final payment, claims and adjustments are completed, and the trade file is closed out and retained.

Common questions

Frequently asked

What does a single point of contact mean in practice?

One team is accountable for the whole trade and for keeping its parts consistent. You deal with one contact rather than coordinating the surveyor, shipping agent, customs broker and bank yourself.

Can trade management cover a trade Wisemann Capital is not a party to?

Yes. Trade management can be engaged for your own trades, where we manage the process on your behalf, as well as for trades in which Wisemann Capital is the buyer or seller.

Is due diligence included?

Yes. Counterparty due diligence — ownership, standing and sanctions screening — is the first stage of every engagement and is repeated where a trade runs over time.

Which commodities does trade management cover?

Energy, metals, fertiliser inputs and agricultural commodities, including everything listed under Commodity Trading. Other goods can be considered on enquiry.
